Reporting to the Software Development Manager, this position is responsible for providing software quality assurance and software documentation for systems of varying size and complexity. Specifically, the Software Tester will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Testing of software in a CMMI ML2 environment as a member of the software team
  • Writing and executing test cases for stress, performance, and functional evaluation
  • Debugging and analyzing program behavior
  • Producing formal software releases and associated configuration management
  • Writing technical documentation
  • Supporting build systems and escrow
  • Working collaboratively with other members of the team, assisting and advising on technical matters as required.
  • International travel for verification of software at customer premises
Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) clearly, accurately and eloquently in English
  • Customer facing experience (demo’s, support, technical presentations, etc.)
  • Familiarity with computer systems and components
The following qualities would be advantageous:
  • professional software testing experience
  • experience with C, C#, and Python
  • experience working with hardware at the PCB level
  • degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Development Tester

Under the responsibility of the Dev Test team leader and based within the development team, the role of this position is to provide constant support to the development team by identifying the best testing processes to find the anomalies present in each feature and ensure their proper functioning before their integration into the game.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and complete the test plans by following parameters of the features and the design documents as transmitted by the development team to identify bugs and to methodically verify all the game aspects related to its work cell.
  • Perform a regular and specific verification of the assigned task to its multidisciplinary production team
  • Identify bugs as the features are added by using development tools
  • Isolate, reproduce and evaluate bugs according to Ubisoft Standards and to propose possible solutions
  • Accurately describe the bugs that were found by using JIRA database and to coordinate with other members of the development team to ensure resolution
  • Identify risks related to the quality of the game during content meetings regarding the progress of the project and to demonstrate progress to the creative team
  • Perform follow up of functional bugs that were found by the external teams
  • Provide follow up of functional bug fixes in real time with the development team
  • Communicate to the contributors (immediate supervisor, members of the development team and testers) information about the bugs that were identified and other tasks of the cell;
  • Capture images or videos
  • Follow all security rules related to version manipulation
  • Ensure that the best practices are maintained in testing with the co development teams
  • Carry out all other related tasks.

 

Qualifications
What you bring

  • A college diploma in computer sciences
  • Specialized diploma related to the industry, training in video game testing or any other equivalent training
  • One (1) year of experience in Quality Control in the video game industry (asset)
  • Any other experience in the industry or in a related area
  • Knowledge of bug tracking software (e.g. Jira) and test management tools (e.g. TestRail and Xray)
  • An understanding of test principles and methodologies
  • A highly collaborative, empathetic, and innovative spirit
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, curiosity, resourcefulness, and plenty of flexibility
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • A solid understanding of the development process & a passion for video games

Job Description
Ubisoft is looking for a Software Tester to join the Publishing Services team within the IT department. You will be involved in various project assignments within the group, ranging from internal projects with corporate clients, to working with outsourcers on external projects such as web or marketing needs.

The types of tests you will cover include integration testing, functional testing, end-to-end testing, and regression testing among others. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with our talented teams that are located internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, create and develop test cases, update and execute test plans and cases based on the requirements;
  • Evaluate and test new or modified products and applications, to verify that they function according to user requirements and to establish guidelines;

  • Knowledge of SQL & MySQL queries an asset.

We are currently looking for a Junior Software Tester to join our Packaging and Deployment Team. The Packaging and Deployment team has a mandate to create, test, and maintain Zero Touch Installations (ZTI), Light Touch Installations (LTI), delivery documentation, and other deliverables in support of LCSS. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in both planning and executing this work.

Job Description:

  • Participate in technical reviews.
  • Assist in planning and estimating future work.
  • Aid efforts to automate the task sequences and reduce turnaround times for development of work products.
  • Work closely with more experienced Packaging test team members to develop test-based skills, and gain familiarity with the technology under test.

    • Empathize with our users and work closely with development and product teams from early stage prototyping to launch.
